IconChanger

If we are talking about the computer world, we can say that icons are all around us. Every program has an icon, every shortcut has one, and so on. Any type of file has an icon which helps us differentiate it from one another. So, an icon manager would be a very good idea. One such program is IconChanger. As the name suggests, this is basically a program that can change the icon of any file or folder with a brand new one. The Windows operating system allows changing file icons, but if we are talking about more files that need their icons changed, then this would be a lengthy and difficult process. Not to mention the fact that Windows doesn't allow changing folder icons.

IconChanger is easy to install, takes up about 5 MB of hard disk space and can run without problems on most versions of Microsoft Windows. System resources are not affected by running this program as its requirements are the lowest possible.

The interface of IconChanger has a graphical aspect and displays a set of predefined icons, allowing the user to scan the entire hard disk for more icons. Besides changing icons for any file or folder, IconChanger can also change system icons that otherwise would be impossible to change. Another thing that IconChanger can do is save the desktop icon position and restore it, in case it changes. During the searching process, icons can be extracted from various types of files, like DLL or EXE, not just from icon files.

The list of extracted icons can be saved as a file, to be reused later. All the changed icons can be reverted to the original state using the program's option. Preferred icons can be dragged and dropped in a special section of the interface, for making them easier to find.
